Patio Cleaning Tips

It is one of those jobs we groan at doing but is one of the few jobs that truly makes a visible difference. Many of us use Pressure washers for its ability to remove stubborn stains quickly – but too much pressure washing can wear away the patio and leave it looking tired and worn, and It can also damage the sealant used to protect the patio.
'There are many specialist patio cleaning products on the market but which ever you use, always test on a small area first. It is also it’s important to rinse it off. If you don’t, the cleaner will continue to work and can leave your patio looking dull. One of the most important jobs is to seal the stone. Sealants create a layer of protection which help your patio last longer and will keep it shiny,

Here are some tried and recommended options:-
OPTION ONE
Biological Washing Powder
For best results, mix biological washing powder with warm water in a bucket to create a foamy solution. Then pour the mixture directly onto the patio slabs, allow it to sink into them, and scrub off the softened dirt using a hard-bristled brush. If you wait about 48 hours after pouring, you can also rinse the debris off by simply power-hosing it down.
OPTION TWO – POCELAINE TILES
Cleaning Porcelain Tiles
1. Broom or brush
2. Mild porcelain-friendly cleaner
3. Warm water
4. A soft cloth or mop
5. Sealant (for extra protection)
6. Pressure washer (optional for deep cleaning)
OPTION THREE
You Need
Hard-bristle scrubbing brush - non-metallic metal scratches)
Either a hose with a power nozzle or a pressure washer
A bucket or spray bottle for your mix
1/2 cup of white wine vinegar
1/2 cup of baking soda
1 cup of warm water
Put into a bucket or spray bottle a cup of warm water, pour in the white vinegar and baking soda, and then mix. Carefully pour into either a spray bottle or keep in your bucket to be applied with a sponge. Hose off the area that needs a clean, soaking it. Apply this solution to one area at a time, doing it in sections. Leave the solution for a few minutes so that it can permeate
the surface ready for cleaning. The longer you leave it, the better, so if it is mossy, and green let the solution soak in for approx. 30 mins.
A professional trick - scrub in a circular motion while tackling a 1m area at a time. dip your brush into the magic mix as you go, and don’t stop until you can see progress. hose down the area you just scrubbed.
